FAQ

How big is Flippen UMC?

Our church has more than 300 members and averages 90-100 people each week between our two worship services.  Just big enough to feel comfortable, just small enough to know everyone!

How long has Flippen UMC been around?

Flippen United Methodist Church was organized in 1840.  The original name of the church was Zoar and it was located two miles north of the Flippen community.  The church moved to its current location in 1886.  Our church has a rich history and a bright future -- come be a part of it!

Does the church have Sunday School?

Our Sunday School classes meet at 9:30 AM.  We have two classes for adults.

How does the church help out people in the community?

We have a food pantry, including perishable foods, called Bread from Heaven, which is staffed on Friday's from 12:30 to 1:30 .  The pantry is available to anyone who is in need within the church or in the community.  Contact the church office for more information!

We support other local ministries such as "Haven House" and "My Friend's Place "and other non-profit organizations who are busy serving our community.

We partner with the Red Cross to hold quarterly blood drives and we are a Polling Precinct.
